MY SUBSTACK

I write on Substack, my project is called The Demisery.

At its core, the work is about learning to grieve life’s physical and psycho-social struggles. The starting point was to chart my pursuit of healing and sanity after repeated miscarriages and the subsequent loss of a partnership and my fertility.

I use genre as a filter to explore themes of loss.  What happens when you process a miscarriage through the lens of a stand-up comedy set, a children’s book, an interview, etc.? It’s funny and heartbreaking and hopefully humanizing and comforting.
